Junction art and gifts was opened in July 2008 by artist Elaine Thomson.
After 5 years of wishing, hoping and planning, Elaine's dream of owning
her own art gallery and gift boutique finally became a reality.
Elaine had two main aims for the business, number one was to create a
space that would act as a showcase for a wide range of unique, contemporary,
art and design by both local and UK wide artists and designers.
Number two and most importantly was to show that good quality
original art and design can be both affordable and accessible to everyone.
With the help and support of her family and of course her brilliant husband
Martin, Junction art and gifts can hopefully be one of the first building blocks
to changing Aberdeens way of thinking and to provide the unique shopping
experience Aberdeen's been crying out for and been lacking compared to it's
Glasgow and Edinburgh counterparts for years.
