Anne Murray

After gaining a BA Ceramics from Glasgow School of Art she completed an
honours year at Grays School of Art in Three Dimensional Design.

Working from her workshop in rural Aberdeenshire she enjoys creating
work for galleries as well as seasonal functional wear.  Her latest project is
developing an autumn winter range of bowls, mugs and platters to be
launched during North East Open Studios.

Anne is attracted to the overlooked, under-appreciated and quirky nature of
everyday things and rituals.  Her handmade porcelain pieces raise the
profile of objects and past times sometimes seen as mundane. Her current
work is inspired by the idiosyncrasies of vintage tin ware and exploring the
connections between fabrics, metals and clay.  The result of this exploration
is a range of trios, cake stands and tea sets.

All of Anne's work can be made to order please ask in store or email for
  more information.
