Junction's First Charity Art Show in aid of Friends of ANCHOR!
Here is a bit more information about the charity we are supporting.
Friends of ANCHOR is a Scottish registered charity that was formed in 1997 to raise funds on
behalf of the ANCHOR unit in Aberdeen. The Aberdeen and North centre for Haematology,
Oncology and Radiography (ANCHOR) unit is a fully funded NHS department at Aberdeen
Royal Infirmary that brings together experts and specialist nursing support to coordinate the
care of patients with all forms of cancer, leukaemia and benign blood disorders such as
haemophilia.
Friends of ANCHOR funds the purchase of non-NHS provided equipment for the Anchor unit
and aims to provide additional care, comfort and support for ANCHOR patients. The charity
also funds vital ground breaking cancer research projects at the University of Aberdeen
institute of Medical Science, Foresterhill.

Now here is full information on how the money
will be raised.
The duration of the show is from the 3rd - 31st of July with a launch evening being held on the 2nd
of July.
The money will be raised in 2 ways over the period of the 3rd - 31st.
The first will be by 30% of all sales from an art exhibition of up to 20 local artist works being
donated to the charity.
The second will be a series of boxed bidding. A special piece will be selected and customers
will have the opportunity to make a bid in secret, place it in a locked box and at the end of
the month the highest bid will win the item.
On the launch evening, Friday the 2nd money will be raised in 5 ways.
The first will be the same as above.
The second will be the same as above.
The third will be listed bidding, each customer that wishes to bid will have to add their name
to the list increasing the bid each time by a minimum increase of £5, the person placing the
final bid and last on the list will win the item.
The fourth will be by guessing the sweets in the jar. For £1 a guess can be made and the
correct guess or closest will win all the sweets.
The fifth will be by donating money for Friends of ANCHOR goodies such as pin badges, key
rings and other such items.

as much as possible for this worth while and amazing charity.
